Our History
Invented by a 4th generation cattle rancher, VacHolster is for those times when you need the vaccine gun handy for quick use while keeping your hands free for more important things.
VacHolster.com opened its doors for business on June 1st 2024 after more than 5 years of R&D where we tested and refined our VacHolster on over 6000 head of cattle, 3000 calves, and hundreds of miles spent wearing it on horseback, 4 wheelers, and in pickup trucks. We refused to offer the VacHolster for sale until it worked exactly the way we wanted it to.
The VacHolster system is designed for every livestock handler that ever wished they had an extra hand.
Who We Are
We are a small family owned company located in rural Southeast Colorado. We make each holster by hand using a combination of WWII era presses, breaks, and space age 3d printers and lasers.
How We Do It
Each leather leg guard is laser cut to size and then stamped on our ancient home-made 50 ton press that we use for everything from pressing loader bearings to stamping leg guards. Each sleeve and mounting plate is 3D printed to order by a rural manufacturing center. The thigh strap, belt clip, and mounting plate are riveted together one at a time with a hand operated rivet press. The final holster is tested for fit and accuracy and then shipped.
Our Core Principles
We operate on 3 core principles.
- Family First
- Be Kind
- Work Hard
Family comes first.
VacHolster.com is operated by a family of full-time 4th generation beef cattle ranchers. The ranch has been a working cow calf operation running an average of 350 pairs since 1937. The 5th generation is currently growing up here. When we say family first we mean it. Our goal with VacHolster.com is to grow at a sustainable pace that does not impact the time we should invest in the next generation in order to instill in them the character and work ethic that so many admire and so few are willing or able to invest in.
We are not interested in the overworked all-nighter culture typically associated with successful entrepreneurial ventures. Our work on VacHolster.com starts after the cows are fed, the water is checked, and all the necessary ranch work is done. We take an hour long break at lunchtime to cook and eat a sit down meal with family, and we stop all work at 5pm so that we can spend time with family. Our lives and our work are built to fit around our family, not the other way around.
So how will this principle affect your experience as a customer?
We process and assemble all the VacHolsters ourselves by hand. In order to keep costs down we do not carry a lot of inventory. Each order is made when it is received. This allows us to grow responsibly. It also means that your order will typically ship about 5 business days after it is placed.
We build our holsters the same way we work our cattle. Quietly and stress free. You can see the benefits of that decision in the health of our cattle, the health of our family, and the quality of each holster. Every system is perfectly optimized to produce exactly the results it is currently getting, and we take family first very seriously.
Be Kind.
We treat others the way we want to be treated. Whether it is an employee or a customer, be kind. "A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger." Proverbs 15:1
So how will this principle affect your experience as a customer?
If you have a problem with our product we want to help you, but we want to do it like we would help our neighbors and friends. Send us an email at info@vacholster.com and we will get to work on making things right. We want to work with you the same way we work our cattle quietly and stress free.
Work Hard.
When it is time to work we work hard. You won’t find us on our phones or surfing social media. We are focused on the job at hand.
So how will this principle affect your experience as a customer?
You can count on us to produce a high quality product that does what it claims to do.
