120 Day Money Back Garuntee

Use it for branding, AI, and weaning. Put it to the test in the mud, the pens, and the chute. If you think you can live without it, send it back for a full refund. No risk. Just a holster that works.

Protect Vaccine Potency

Vaccines can lose potency rapidly when exposed to direct sunlight. VacHolster sleeves significantly reduce sunlight exposure on the Syringe, while still keeping the gun handy for when you need it.

Reduce Needlestick Risk

Each sleeve is design with a wraparound needle guard so that the needle is covered even when that pesky little cap it came with falls off and gets lost in the dirt.

Swap Syringes in Seconds

Swap out the sleeves and switch between vaccine syringes in less time than it takes to rope a calf. Gently pull the tab on the back of the holster. Slide the old sleeve out. And slide the new one in.

  • 1. Clip to Your Belt

Hook the spring steel clip onto your belt, pants, or pocket.

  • 2. Strap to Your Leg

Secure the high strength breathable neoprene legs straps around your leg.

  • 3. Enjoy Freedom!

Enjoy the freedom of having your vaccine gun on hand when you need it and out of the way when you don't.

Common Questions

Will it fit my syringe?

Yes. VacHolster has different sleeves that are designed to fit all repeater syringes, no matter the brand. The most common ones we see people buying are the 50ML and 25ML size syringes from companies like Allflex, Prodigy, NJ Phillips, and Prima. If you’re using a livestock vaccine syringe, VacHolster has a sleeve that will fit.

Do I need to buy a new VacHolster for every style of gun that I own?

No. If you own a VacHolster and change syringes at some point, you don’t need to buy a new holster. Just go online and order the sleeve that fits your new gun. Each sleeve costs $30 and they can be swapped out in seconds.

How do I change sleeves?

Gently pull the leather tab on the back of the holster. Slide the old sleeve out, and slip the new one in. It’s quick, doesn't require any tools, and can be done in less time than it takes to rope a calf.

What if I don’t see the right sleeve on your website?

We believe we own the largest collection of vaccine gun styles and brands in the world. We have a ton of sleeves for less common guns that we don’t keep on the website just so it doesn't get too cluttered, but we guarantee we have one.  If you don’t see what you are looking for just send us an email at info@vacholster.com with the brand name and size or a picture and details of your gun, and we will get you sorted out.

How do I put it on?

Clip it to your belt, waistband, or pocket. Fasten the leg straps. Go to work. It can be put on or taken off in seconds. If you are taking a break, you can pull the whole thing off and put it in the cooler in an instant.

How do I adjust the size?

The webbing strap adjusts in length up to 3” allowing the gun to be comfortably positioned on anyone from kids to adults. The neoprene legs strap has two different velcro spacings on each strap making it easy to fit any size leg.

How do I switch from right-hand to left-hand use?

Gently pull the leather tab on the back of the holster, slide the sleeve out, turn it around, and slide it back in with the dovetail on the other side. It’s quick, doesn't require any tools, and can be done in less time than it takes to rope a calf.

Does it really guard the needle and prevent needlesticks?

Yes. The holster easily shields needles up to 1.5” in length. It never hurts to keep the cap on the needle, but you and I both know that as soon as you turn your back on it, that cap falls off and gets lost in the dirt. Having a built in needle guard means less risk of jabbing yourself or someone else and more confidence in doing the work.

Will it get in the way?

No. It rides close to your side, so you can ride, walk pens, or work chutes without snagging or bouncing around. We chose the thigh holster after years of experimentation with different body positions because it just worked the best in the most circumstances. We do have a chest strap rig but we only recommend it in very specific circumstances. There is a reason that the biggest evolution in quick access holster technology in the last 5000 years was the thigh holster. We have brought that innovation to ranching.

Will it protect my vaccine from harmful sunlight?

Yes. Each sleeve is made from UV blocking ABS. At ⅛” thick, the sleeves cut UV radiation by approximately 99.99%. The sleeves do not wrap fully around each syringe, so the exposed portion of the syringe may still absorb UV radiation under the right conditions. In situations where eliminating all UV radiation is necessary, a strip of UV blocking tape can be added to the gun to achieve full protection from the sunlight. Vaccine syringes with an amber colored barrel can also block between 90% and 95% of additional UV radiation.

Will it protect my vaccine from temperature extremes?

No. Not by itself. The VacHolster sleeve is not meant to regulate the temperature of the vaccine. Once the vaccine comes out of the cooler there is no better system to help you get it to your cattle quickly and effectively than VacHolster.

Is it easy to clean?

Yes. If it gets vaccine, blood, manure, or dirt on it, the sleeve can be unmounted and washed with disinfectant or soap and hot water. The universal mounting rig can be washed down by hand and hung out to dry. Just add some leather conditioner to the leg guard when you are done, and it will stay in great shape for years to come.

How do I take care of the leather?

Like any good leather gear, give it a light oil or conditioner once in a while, and it’ll stay in great shape for years.

Will the leather darken over time?

Yes, just like a good saddle or reins. That’s normal for leather and only adds character. Having a dark holster is a matter of pride. It means you’ve been working.

Will it hold up to ranch work?

Yes. That’s exactly what it’s built for. Cold mornings or hot days, dust, rain, or mud, use it for branding, AI, and weaning, put it to the test in the pens, and the chute. We guarantee a holster that works as hard as you do.

What’s it made of?

Heavy-duty leather and steel hardware with a sleeve made out of tough UV and shock resistant ABS. No cheap materials. It’s ranch gear, not a toy.

Will it break if I drop it?

No. It’s tough enough to take abuse. You’d have to work hard to break one. Can you break it if you jump up and down on it or drive over it with a trailer full of yearling bulls? Yes! Don’t do those things! (If it does break during normal use, let us know and we will replace it.)

My Uncle Bud made one of those out of suspenders and an old pistol holster 40 years ago. Why should I buy this one?

Because his holster didn’t actually work that well or you would still be using it. Plus, he was the only one who knew exactly how to put it on. We probably own the largest collection of homemade vaccine gun holsters in the world, and have seen an awful lot of attempts to solve this problem. While many of them make a fair attempt, none of them actually solve it. VacHolster solves the problem in a way that everybody can use.

Is it worth it if I only use it during branding season?

Yes. Even if you only use it a few weeks a year, the time, stress, and wasted vaccine it saves you will more than pay for itself.

How does it help me reduce stress on my cattle?

Because your syringe is always where your hand expects it to be, there is no fumbling, no dropping, and no delays at the chute or on the ground. That keeps the work moving and reduces the time spent working each cow. Less time spent being worked equals less stress on your cattle.

Where is it made?

Every VacHolster is made right here in Southeast Colorado in the good old USA.

Do you stand behind it?

Absolutely. If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right. We have a 120-day money back guarantee for a reason.

Great Invention!

We brand thousands of cattle a year. When we saw the ad for VacHolster, we immediately ordered 2. Love the product. Love the fast shipping. Love the design and the look. Please watch the video and the instructions so you don't wear it backwards. It matters!
Can't wait to see what other products they make to make branding more convenient. Highly recommend this product for the Branding trap.

Highly Recommend

At 68 years of age, I am usually limited to one job during the brandings (vaccinating, banding, branding, or sometimes just holding a chair in place). Before discovering the VacHolster, I typically walked around the crowd working while visiting with friends I may see only once a year at the branding, and I would have to be constantly aware of which hand the vaccine gun is in and which direction the covered (or uncovered) needle is pointing. So when I had the opportunity to wear a VacHolster, I immediately understood its value and safety.
Because of the VacHolster, my opportunities to help have expanded exponentially. I could do double-duty--banding and vaccinating bulls or occasionally flanking and holding a calf with one of my grandchildren. Knowing the vaccine gun was securely tucked in the VacHolster, I found I no longer needed to be on high alert while holding the vaccine gun or had the need to urgently find someone to hold it when I wanted to help in some other urgent capacity. I also felt people were much more comfortable being around me. VacHolster is very practical, easy to use, comfortable to wear, and can actually be an interesting conversation piece. Get one, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent Product!

Excellent product. Always like having my hands free after vaccinating livestock. You never know when you have to give a helping hand. It's so nice not to have to remember where you set the vaccine gun down last. This product has an ideal placement on your leg. Also, safe handling. The vaccine gun is secure and safe with the needle not being exposed to poke you or anyone else. Definitely recommend!
